I see your point Mike, however, I'm not sure that paying taxes = a smart vote or vice versa. I'm a full-time graduate student who happens to presently not make an income and actually has never made an income (thus far) that left me in a high enough income bracket to pay taxes. HOWEVER!! I have common sense and for the sake of our country and my own personal future (I of course will not be a student forever) would never support such ridiculousness as Obamacare, Cap and Trade.....

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3: the so-called Commerce Clause
Articlw 1, Section 8, Clause 18: the so-called "Necessary and Proper" Clause

That's what gives Congress the power to regulate this. Now, if you want to sign up with Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) and lead a secessionist movement citing the 19th Amendment, you're free to do so, but you'll be going up against 200 years of settled law in the process.

Its getting to the point where people can "vote" themselves whatever they want, by finding politicians to make the promises for the constituent's vote. Its sick. Its also something the founders warned us about.

I would love to start a movement of people that if you do not pay taxes you get no vote. It is embarassing to think that people who have no vested interest in America and pay a small amount of tax get a vote. We fund the poor way too much.
Obamacare is a joke. It will do nothing but raise rates.
