Senator Bill Nelson's Response to My Cap & Trade Bill Inquiry
Anyone get one of “these” yet? Here’s the response I received from my Senator regarding my concern with this Economic Suicide Bill known as “Cap & Trade” or “Cap and Tax”.
Dear Mr. Bradley:
Thank you for contacting me regarding cap-and-trade legislation.
I am interested in cap-and-trade programs because they would let the market, not the government, dictate how to lower harmful emissions. I believe that we have the technology and ability to meet the challenge of climate change in a way that will provide new economic opportunities and make us more competitive internationally while protecting consumers from high energy prices and breaking our dependence on oil.
Global warming threatens Florida’s fragile ecosystem and $56 billion tourism industry. Rising sea levels will encroach on Florida’s pristine beaches and harm coastal wetlands and the Everglades. Increased carbon dioxide and water temperatures will damage sensitive coral reefs and endanger Florida’s diverse marine species. A scientific study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded with 90 percent certainty that global warming is caused by the accumulation of man-made greenhouse gasses.
I will continue to work in the Senate to fight the effects of global warming. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me, and I respect your views. Please feel free to regarding any additional issues of concern.
Sincerely,
Senator Bill NelsonP.S. From time to time, I compile electronic news briefs highlighting key issues and hot topics of particular importance to Floridians. If you’d like to receive these e-briefs, visit my Web site and sign up for them at http://billnelson.senate.gov/news/ebriefs.cfm
Okay Senator Nelson, let’s take your letter piece by piece, his first point:
“I am interested in cap-and-trade programs because they would let the market, not the government, dictate how to lower harmful emissions.”
Isn’t this a nice little “stinger”? Let’s see… 1st of all the government couldn’t come up with a solution to “how to lower harmful emissions” if every bureaucrat and his mother were on the job. 2nd The latest EPA Study provides strong evidence that the alleged “harmful emissions” to be regulated by Cap & Trade have absolutely no effect on the climate of the earth. Please read it before you vote Senator [by the way... please read the bill too - that might help].
Bottom line all of this is ridiculous & the claim of Man Made Global Warming is Fraud, again please read the government bureaucrat study released by the EPA.
Next he says:
“I believe that we have the technology and ability to meet the challenge of climate change in a way that will provide new economic opportunities and make us more competitive internationally while protecting consumers from high energy prices and breaking our dependence on oil”
Again the Senator is incorrect. Well… I guess he’s just telling me his “belief”, so he might understand this is absurd, kind of like kids and Santa Claus. Either way… the first problem is that human beings cannot change the climate – not even with a really big thermostat! Next, and more importantly, the Cap and Trade legislation will not make us more competitive, the opposite it true. While we’re committing “economic suicide” with this Cap & Tax Bill, China has no intentions of slowing their economic growth. They’re not stupid! Who the hell intentionally destroys an economy thinking they are saving the earth? Really???
And I LOVE this last part about how this will protect consumers from high energy prices… I’m sorry but do you think I don’t listen? It only on YOUTUBE SENATOR!! The President himself said “energy prices will skyrocket”, here Senator please watch this and you can hear him too… in case you didn’t get the memo.
Okay… and next Senator Nelson says:
“Global warming threatens Florida’s fragile ecosystem and $56 billion tourism industry. Rising sea levels will encroach on Florida’s pristine beaches and harm coastal wetlands and the Everglades. Increased carbon dioxide and water temperatures will damage sensitive coral reefs and endanger Florida’s diverse marine species. A scientific study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded with 90 percent certainty that global warming is caused by the accumulation of man-made greenhouse gasses.”
Okay let me ask you this Senator… do you trust the “Intergovernmental Panel” study or the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s study? Because clearly… there’s a conflict of facts here.
How can you guys pass LAW and then TAX Americans and American Business with “fairy tales” about how my breathing, your exhaling, is causing the damn climate to change? I learned in 1st or 2nd grade that CO2 (the stuff you call “bad”) is needed by trees and that they actually take that “bad stuff” and turn it into “good stuff” (aka AIR) so we can keep breathing. Read the EPA study Senator. Let’s see… what else, you’re really paranoid aren’t you Senator? My car driving is going to cause the water levels to rise? Okay… you’ve been watching one too many Science Fiction movies there Senator.
Lets move on:
“I will continue to work in the Senate to fight the effects of global warming. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me, and I respect your views. Please feel free to regarding any additional issues of concern.”
Who, besides God, can “fight” the earth’s own inclination to warm? Did you know that the earth has actually been cooling, and its actually going to continue to cool over the next 30 years? Yeah… it’s in the EPA Study (read it).
Sir, you do not appreciate me sharing my thoughts, nor do you respect my views. If you did, I wouldn’t have received a “form letter” response. In fact you addressed NOTHING that I wrote in my inquiry to your office other than the “subject” that I chose for my message.
You know what Senator? I’m insulted that you even thought I could even so much as consider this ridiculous theory of Man Made Global Warming and that you actually thought I would be supportive of this massive effort to commit economic suicide.
If you ever did have any, As of Right Now you Have No Credibility.
I’m Jason Bradley, thanks for reading.

I got the same letter. Not a word out of place. I of course understand that they do not personalize every letter, but they could at least consider that I wrote to explain my extreme disapproval with this bill before they send this drivel my way.
Yeah I guess in the House & Senate they're on a reading strike, they don't read letters from constituents just like they don't bother reading the Bills they vote for.
America is in a lot of trouble, but at least we'll all know where to point the finger when it all hits the fan (which probably isn't too far off in the future).
I too received the same form letter
Just sent him another message.
Issue: Other
Subject: We need to talk
Message:
Dear Senator Nelson:
I took the time to sit down, read about the issue, then draft and send an email to your office about my concerns.
You sent me a "form letter".
You sent me the exact same letter that you sent to other people.
You just changed the name and the date.
What the hell is going on in Washington?
Jason Bradley
At you got a response, still waiting here.
