Is Charlie Crist Afraid to Debate a Conservative Challenger…?
Why won’t Governor Crist attend a Republican Primary debate for FL’s US Senate Seat?
If you’re not from Florida you may not have heard that Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) will not be seeking re-election for the U.S. Senate in 2010.
His announcement has inspired the Governor of Florida to step down and head to Washington D.C. as a U.S. Senator… if he can win. One of his problems is that there are enough Democrats in the Senate already and I’m not so sure Florida Republicans are ready to send another Progressive ‘Good Ole’ Boy Insider’ to the U.S. Senate. Quite frankly, we’ve had enough of the Washington-Insider types, especially the ones who haven’t even been to Washington yet.
In case you don’t remember, Charlie Crist had a very broad selection of candidates to endorse in the Republican Presidential Primary… in fact he could have chosen to NOT endorse any of them, but no… he had to endorse ‘The Maverick’ John McCain. After all, that’s what the ‘Good Ole’ Boy, Country Club Republicans’ wanted, they wanted a Moderate (aka Liberal) Republican Candidate and Charlie Crist, being a member of that very ‘Good Ole’ Boy Country Club Republican’ group gave them what they wanted by putting McCain over the top with his endorsement.
I understand the ‘mainstream, drive-by, state run media’ has a “thing” for moderate Republicans, so he’s been fortunate enough to get the benefit of ‘drive by’ coverage. Even the local Conservative Talk Radio station here in Jacksonville WOKV has only recently started to give Crist’s primary challenger some attention, but only after his appearance on Sean Hannity’s radio program.
Governor Charlie Crist has a problem, a Conservative problem, and his name is Marco Rubio, former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.
And among his other problems… the “alleged” Republican, Governor Charlie Crist, endorsed Obama’s Trillion Dollar Stimulus [that hasn’t stimulated anything except the national debt]. Rubio Opposed the wasteful spending bill.
In fact here’s some quick info on Marco Rubio on the issues:
“TAXES
Never voted for a tax increase, supports tax relief and tax reform to make taxes simpler, easier to understand, and more fair.
JUDGES
Supports judges who will respect rule of law, strictly interpret constitution, and not legislate from the bench.
IMMIGRATION
Supports commonsense immigration reform that will focus first and foremost on border security.
ENVIRONMENT
Opposes big-government environmental policies in favor of common-sense free-market reforms to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
SANCTITY OF LIFE
Pro-life, supported legislation requiring that doctors perform ultrasounds before performing abortions, and opposed use of taxpayer dollars to fund stem cell research.”

Governor Crist keeps making excuses as to why he can’t meet Rubio for a debate…
Crist is a Progressive, hiding behind the “R” after his name, a liberal in sheep’s clothing if you will… a younger version of John McCain (after all he endorsed him out of all of the other choices). Marco Rubio is a Conservative and he doesn’t hide from that fact.
Among many of Marco Rubio’s endorsers you’ll find Conservative Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee, Congressman Jim Miller, and Former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush Jr. There’s a reason they’re choosing Rubio over Crist, its because . we have too many Charlie Crists in Washington already.
And this is Not Only About Florida, America needs a Conservative to win the Florida Senate race in 2010 and Marco Rubio is the only one on the ballot.
For more information and how you can help save America ($ millions $… possibly $ BILLIONS $) by keeping Gov. Crist out of Washington where he’s sure to endorse & vote for a lot more of Obama’s out of control Spending… Stand With Marco Rubio at MarcoRubio.com

You're right, Crist is an ideological reflection of John McCain. Rubio would send Crist home crying if the governor actually decided to debate him.
